Hello all,
I am a newbie to Sharepoint. I've been given a project to find out of we can basically give users access based on their AD group memberships.
Example:
Joe works in Accounting. He is a member of the following AD groups: Accounting Users, Domain Users, and Business Operations.
Jane works in IT. She is a member of the following AD groups: IT Users, Domain Users, and Support Operations.
Joe should be able to view the Company Bulletin Board, Accounting Team, and Business Operations Sharepoint sites. Jane should be able to view the Company Bulletin Board, IT Team, and Support Operations Sharepoint sites.
Joe cannot see the IT Team or Support Ops sites, and Jane cannot see Accounting or Business Ops.
I'm oversimplifying this because I'm not sure what terminology to use. We are running Sharepoint 2003. If you have any questions, please let me know and I'll answer them as best I can to assist you.
