WSS 3.0 Installation Error

I am trying to upgrade to WSS 3.0 and I keep getting the same error message:

Setup is unable to proceed due to the following error(s):
This product requires ASP.NET v2.0 to be set to 'Allow" in the list of Internet Information Services (IIS) Web Server Extensions. In it is not available in the list, re-install ASP.NET v2.0
Correct the issue(s) listed above and re-run setup.


I can confirm I have ASP.NET v2.0 allowed in IIS, I even reinstalled it to make sure it wasn't damaged. Any ideas?

W2K3, SP1 (64-bit) (yes, using 64-bit versions).

It sounds like 2.0 isn't getting install properly, you should see the option to make it's status Allow. I'd try removing SharePoint and 2.0 all together and start fresh.
