Configuration of WSS 3.0 / Exchange 2003 Std

Hi everybody, I've got a small problem! I installed the WSS 3.0 on a MS Server 2003 Std and I also installed a MS Exchange Server 2003.
I configured the WSS 3.0 to receive and send emails through this Exchange Server but it doesn't run! Has anybody a tutorial how to
configure WSS 3.0 to use an existing Exchange Server 2003?
