Is there much point for simple web sites in using the Sharepoint Server (MOSS) when with a bit of programming al you need is WSS running on your server ? Ok things like single sign on and Biztalk integration are not easy but most web sites dont need so much complexity?
Its not just a license thing is it ?- to offer your web site across the internet you have to buy a MOSS license?

I haven't seen any hosting companies offering MOSS 2007 as a hosted solution, same goes for Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. I anticipate that WSS 3.0 will become a hosted solution like WSS 2.0, however MOSS 2007 will not. Below is a link to the MOSS 2007 licensing schema that may provide information that you're looking for: office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepointserver/FX101865111033.aspxMOSS 2007 Pricing Information office.microsoft.com/en-us/products/FX101754511033.aspxIf you can use WSS 2.0 and it provides all the functionality then stay where you are at. WSS 3.0 is very similar but wraps in newer technology and has alot of cool new web parts. It's also easier to develop on in my opinion.
