Ascentium is a full service consulting company with Business Consulting, Interactive Marketing Services, Enterprise Content Management, CRM, BI, and Technology Services. We are headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, just outside of Seattle. Microsoft is our largest customer and is five minutes away, but we also service a large number of customers in our other local offices and that number expands daily.

A Solution Architect with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience on Microsoft platform is needed to help lead our technology team in the Bellevue office. Must provide thought leadership on best practices for enterprise architecture, understand the Microsoft technology solution stack, and have a thorough understanding of enterprise application integration. This person will lead architecture and design reviews for all Northwest projects that target new or significant modification of existing applications, actively participate in development activities, as well as conduct technical reviews and assessments. Must provide individual or project support for complex projects or applications, adhere to project timelines and technical deliverables within different client environments; and analyze and provide quality technical solutions that exceed client expectations.
The Solution Architect will play a central role in the complete solution lifecycle from presales efforts and responding to RFP’s to designing the solution and envisioning follow up work to implementation and deployment into production systems. The implementation role will include software architecture, development as well as technical project management for various teams and ultimate responsibility for the technical deliverables of a project.
This role requires a proven technical skill set that has been demonstrated in the development of enterprise Line of Business applications and their integration into heterogeneous enterprise systems.
Engagements will vary and will involve providing expert consultancy, mentoring, formulating technical strategies and policies and acting as a “trusted advisor” to customers and internal teams. •Sound sense of business and technical strategy required.
Ability to work with or in parallel with multiple development teams consisting of several technical consultants, or large-scale projects is also imperative. Strong interpersonal skills as well as solid strategic thinking are key.
The ideal candidate will be capable of envisioning the solution based on the early client requirements, communicating the vision to both technical and business stakeholders, leading small to medium sized geographically dispersed teams through implementation, as well as mentoring and hands-on software development. The ideal candidate would demonstrate successful use of agile software development methods and enterprise application patterns on prior projects in addition to effective leadership skills.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree (computer science, engineering, or math preferred)
Preferred Education:
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• Premium Microsoft Certifications on .Net (MCSD) or relevant experience.
Minimum Experience and Skills:
• 7+ years experience with business information systems integration or custom business application design and development in a professional technology consulting, corporate MIS or software development environment.
Deep expertise in 3 or more of the following:
• Programming with .NET Framework: Complete from back end to Windows or Web Forms front end;
• Enterprise integration technologies (Microsoft BizTalk, MSMQ, Web Services, Remoting)
• Microsoft Enterprise Content Management and Collaboration technologies (SharePoint Portal Server / Windows SharePoint Services, Content Management Server, Office SharePoint Server 2007, Office Live Communications Server, Microsoft Groove Server 2007)
• Microsoft SQL Server Database, Analysis, Integration and Reporting Services
• ASP .NET and client web development (XML, XSL, ASP .NET, AJAX, HTML, Java Script)
Proven knowledge and experience with:
• Agile methodologies
• Enterprise integration and software development patterns
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Lead development teams through the complete solution SDLC:
• Ability to communicate in detail how a solution will integrate into the larger technical problem space for large, complex enterprises.
• Define technical solution requirements.
• Provide guidance to the customer and project team with respect to technical feasibility, complexity, and level of effort required to deliver a custom solution.
• Assist senior and managing project consultants in incorporating development project plan into overall project plan.
• Ensure that the solution is designed, developed and deployed in accordance with the agreed upon development work plan.
• Create and deliver weekly status reports of development progress to the project manager.

• Assist in the development and delivery of pre & post sales presentations and proposals for client engagements.
• Engage with Ascentium sales team to understand requirements and present solutions.
• Prototype the feasibility of proposed technology solutions.

• Strong desire to provide thought leadership related to technology and help grow the business.
• Ability to work effectively and professionally with employees at all levels of a customer’s organization.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
