One of the pleasures of WSS for a non-pro site owner (NPSO) is the ability to create a useful sharepoint site in a hosted environment using OOTB functionality within WSS. While I've done some searching, there doesn't seem to be a collection of targeted reference and how-to information available for this category of WSS site owner.
To use the Goldilocks analogy, the soups either too hot or too cold, with hot referring to voluminous tech info targeted at the IT Pro and cold targeted at the WSS end user. If it's too hot then I'll likely get lost, while if it's too cold I can't find the way to information that helps me accomplish some basic site development and administration tasks within a hosted environment.
To be just right for me, and perhaps other NPSO's running a hosted WSS site, the reference material likely needs to be structured along the lines of a life-cycle approach at two levels; with the high level being an A to Z overview of building, gradually enhancing, maintaining and administering a hosted WSS site for a targeted user group; and the low level being links to specific/targeted tech info at various locations.
While FAQ's at hosting service providers often help, they are typically incomplete; and I find myself forever hunting. So any references to that just right source of information for the NPSO running a hosted WSS site would be most appreciated:> Thanks.
