Quick and hopefully easy question... When using the Announcement web part is there a way to hide the Authors name from the post. We are using Sharepoint Services 2.0. Thanks in advance.

Hey Thanks for your reply, I was able to remove the author from each post. I have an additional question though, on the Announcement webpart how can I customize it so the entire announcement is shown on the page? By default the posts get cut off and do not show the entire post. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Now how did you get them to do that? By default, my announcements show the whole body text. I'd like them to only show a couple of lines with a "Read More..." link, but I can't find a way to get it to do that.

You are using Sharepoint 2.0? By default our sharepoint sites are not showing the whole announcements. I want to be able to show the whole post...

I'd like them to only show a couple of lines with a "Read More..." link, but I can't find a way to get it to do that. If you edit the site in Frontpage you can develop this functionality into the web part itself. For example if you want Read More... to be hyperlinked to the actual full Announcement then you can do this by using the same code as the Announcement Title which is also linked to the actual item.

By default you are correct, the announcement description (body) gets cut off to help save screen real estate. Remember web parts are snippets of information to a more robust set of information. However; if you want to display the entire announcement you can edit the XSLT and have the entire description show via Frontpage 2003.
