I am trying to setup an environment where to host sharepoint services 3.0 to customers and I would like to have some input on how to make it the best setup possible.
I would also like to know how to make SSL available to all customers even when they want their own domainnames on their sharepoint sites.

You might want to look at talking with a hosting company that already hosts SharePoint. We use Front Pages Web Hosting network and they've been a great host. www.frontpages-web-hosting.net/In regards to SSL, MOSS and WSS will support it.

Hi Jay Thanks for the fast reply on this thread but the thing is that we are looking to setup our own WSS hosting and can not get the SSL to work with several domains.

Hi Jay Thanks for the fast reply on this thread but the thing is that we are looking to setup our own WSS hosting and can not get the SSL to work with several domains. Each site has to be it's own web application so you can apply SSL. If you try to create hosted sites using Sub Sites it won't work.

okey so when a customer signs up I need to script IIS to create a new web application and then apply a SSL for their site only.
So if I buy the domain sharepointsweden.com and each customer will have addresses like customer1.sharepointsweden.com I can use a wildcard SSL certificate as long as every customer relies in a separate web application in IIS.
