Fields <--Custom List

hi!!

first of all sorry for my bad English but i'm austrian!
so, up to my question is it possible to create a custom list with fixed fields in it?

So that everytime you create a new List of that Custom Type there are the same 3 or 4 fields in it from the beginning??

If you create a list you can then save it as a template and when you create new lists you can choose this template and voila you have the same fields every time.
