SharePoint Site access

Hello Guys,

I installed WSS 3.0 in basic mode of installtion. Then next I make the site as anonymous. I was not inclded my server into the domain. I'm getting an error while tried to access the site from other systems (clients). If I add it in the domain then I'm able to access it. What is the logic behind this?

Depending on how DNS is setup and whether or not your using Host Headers in IIS will depend on how you access the site. You should be able to get to your site via http://machinename if you haven't provided IIS a host header e.g. www.domainname.com.
