I'm working on customizing a masterpage and we want to get rid of the quicklaunch and display only pages within the current site.
Anyone know the best way to go about this?

Actually, we don't want to use the Quicklaunch.
We need to do something like create a custom list and then display that list as the navigation on the left side of the page with formatting.

You can use dataviews in SharePoint Designer to edit the default master page and then add in your list to be the navigation in place of the Quick Launch.
