First off, please excuse this (very) basic question.
I have installed and configured MOSS 2007 Enterprise on Windows 2003 Std R2 and am ready to create and populate the top tier sites. I am using a single server, but have setup MOSS as a server farm. I used the TechNet documentation and created the following web applications:
SharePoint Central Administration v3 http://<servername>:4633/ SharePoint - 80 http://<servername> SharePoint - 16227 http://<servername>:16227
My intent is to create a TLS on the port 80 site using the collaboration template; however, I must have setup the My Sites collection wrong -- when I navigate to http://<servername>, it then re-directs to the logged-in users My Site page.
I think I may need to "back out" a bit and re-do this, but need advice on this. I checked several MOSS books I bought, but no answer (that I could see). Here's my Site Collection List for web app http://<servername>: URL / /personal/<username> /personal/<username> /sites/WCTI /ssp/admin
And the right-hand side has the following: URL http://<servername> Title My Site Description Primary administrator: <domain>\<username> E-mail address <username>@<domain name>.org Database Name WSS_Content
What'd I do wrong, and how do I correct it (even if you have a link)?

Go it solved. I deleted my sites and web app on port 80 and started over. Created new web app on port 80. Created Site Collection same time after creating Web App. Then I created SSP with admin on port 80 and My Site on another port.
