MOSS Document Conversion

I recently started looking into the document conversion capabilities using out of the box functionality with MOSS 2007. I found this great blog post that includes screenshots and a walkthrough in terms of Central Administration Configuration and Document Library settings.

The interesting thing about this is how can you add your own conversion code so that you can have convert to pdf built in?

There is a solution on CodePlex.com and I've found this article on aspose.com.

Interesting. I think features is really underestimated in SharePoint. I am looking how to deploy a feature that must appear in the dropdown of folders inside a document library and when clicked it must execute my console application with the arguments of the folder sent to it.

I dont like the installation procedure, is there a way to do a feature installation differently?
