I have a problem that I'm running into while setting up inbound email for WSS3 using Exchange 2003. Here's the deal...I've set up DNS, the OU, delegated rights to a domain service account and went through and changed the account for sharepoint to run under a domain account (the service account i created). I did that by following this article: support.microsoft.com/kb/934838I then went into Central Administration\Operations\Service Accounts and changed the account from "Network Service" to my service account. Everything appeared to work great. I can create mail contacts, email works and everything...except that none of the clients can access the site. It keeps prompting them for a password and then gives a 401.1 unauthorized error. However, I can access the site with no problems when I do it from the server hosting sharepoint. When I go back into Central Administration\Operations\Service Accounts and change it back to "Network Service", everyone can then access the site, however, I can no longer create mail contacts. So it appears that I can either get mail working, but not let anyone access the site, or have people access the site, but not have anything mail enabled. It appears to be IIS related because I get the 401 error. I would think if it were something in sharepoint itself, it would bring me to a sharepoint looking page and tell me there was an error. Has anyone else run into this or know how to fix it? Any help would be appreciated.
