I am deploying a 3-tier Intranet MOSS farm with 1 web front end, 1 web/app and 1 data server (other web and data servers to be added later).
We started the install with a complete install on the app server to install Central Admin, etc.. We enabled SSP on the app server as well. We then used the wizard with the Web Front End server option to create the user-accessible web server itself.
Unfortunately, I can enable the Index role on the app server by modifying the Windows SharePoint Server Search service but it appears that I have no way to associate the Query role to my User-facing Web Front End server while accessing the Central Admin site from the app server itself. I need to propagate the index file to the user-facing Web Front End so I don't want to simply enable the Query role on my app server (where the Index role is already set).
Any ideas on how to enable the query role on my user-facing Web Front End? I'm sure I'm overlooking something obvious!
Any help is greatly appreciated.
