List Templates

I installed the HelpDesk site template to a dev site that I'm working on. In the HelpDesk site there is a FAQ list. I need to be able to pull that list out as a template so that I can re-create a blank FAQ on other sites. In the end I will delete the HelpDesk site, b/c I don't need it for anything other than the FAQ.

I have already saved the FAQ list as a list template, but I can't figure out how to create the new list from the template on the home site. It works fine on the HelpDesk subsite.

Any Ideas?
