I need to give someone access to upload files to a folder on a document library that is on a site they do not normally have permission to access. So I created the folder and gave that person Contribute permission for that folder. Share Point automatically gave that person the Limited Access permission to the site. I expected that person then to be able to see that folder only on that site. But he does not see the site at all. All of the documentation I have seen says that with the Limited Access permission set he should see it. Am I doing something incorrectly?

hey make sure the folder not inheriting permissions from the parent. What you want to do make that user read only on the main site then give that user permissions to that folder..
What i did was set up a custom rule so that users can read and edit but not delete then gave everyone read only to the site and then from each folder gave different permissions to each user
