SharePoint Consultants
Washington Consulting, an Alion company, is seeking motivated SharePoint Consultants for our Information Management Solutions Consulting practice.
We are currently accepting only employee applicants (no “corp. to corp.,” no 1099). Selected candidate must be available for work at various locations in the metropolitan Washington DC area. Relocation or travel funds for applicants who do not currently reside in the DC metro area are not available.

The qualified candidate will possess an in-depth understanding of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, SharePoint Designer 2007, and Microsoft Visual Studio capabilities, web development (.ASP .NET, HTML, CSS, XSL, XSLT, JavaScript, IIS), SharePoint templates, predefined and custom workflows, SharePoint team lead capabilities and best practices, data view web part utilization, custom web part development, and troubleshooting. The candidate must have experience deploying SharePoint solutions from staging to production environments. Experience integrating Microsoft Project Server 2007 and MOSS 2007 is a major plus. Strong SQL configuring and querying skills, thorough knowledge of database schema and ODBC connection is imperative. At least 6 years’ directly related experience is imperative and a BA degree in Computer Science is preferred. Candidate should have solid technical writing skills and be able to communicate effectively with clients in written and oral presentation formats.
Consultants will leverage highly-developed analysis skills in consulting to identify business and technical requirements and formulate solutions to complex business problems. The individual will also provide technical leadership for solution development, guiding design/development activities and reviewing product deliverables for functional, performance and architectural conformance.
The ideal SharePoint Consultant candidates will have:
• US Citizenship
• Current secret clearance or the ability to secure and maintain a secret clearance
• 8 years’ relevant professional experience, preferably in management or IT consulting
• Understanding of Federal SDLC processes and IT development requirements
• Prior consulting experience strongly preferred
• Prior experience working for a Federal government client strongly preferred
• Demonstrated solid understanding of consulting tools and methodologies
Position Description
Primary Duties
• Responsible for estimating, creating, and meeting the timeline of the development of releases
• Provide technical leadership in support of best practices to a project, ensuring solutions are scalable, available and functional
• Evaluate, recommend, document and establish standards around use of the product and governance
• Facilitate work sessions with end users to collect, analyze and evaluate business requirements
• Work with Business Process Analyst(s) to design and develop functionalities that meet business requirements
• Create functional and technical documentation (requirements, design, etc.)
• Custom application development in support of SharePoint (MOSS 2007) technologies utilizing SharePoint Designer 2007 and Microsoft Visual Studio
• Perform unit test, system test, user acceptance test and implementation plans
• Provide production support for assigned systems
• Mentor and support other team members and client users
