I have created a site and it has several folders to drill down into.
I want to block access to everyone except a few select users and I cannot find out how to do this.

when u say folder do u mean the actual folders or the document libraries?
If they are document libraries, go to the document library --> Click on Settings --> DL Settings -- Permissions for this document library (Under Permissions and Management)
If they are folders, make sure you can see the Edit Menu of all documents, scroll the edit menu and u can find "Manage Permissions"
This should help u acheive what u wanted

When I follow these directions I see my username in the permission list only.
However others can still see and go into this library.
Even though my name is the only one that has permission.
I'm confused
