I have a Moss2007 farm with 2 front end servers and one indexer, running on Win2003 . Although Information Rights Management is not enabled in Central Admin and we don’t have any RMS on the domain, I get IRM errors in the event viewer on one of the front end boxes (only on one). The event IDs are in the following sequence: start with an info 5034, followed by the warning 5037 and end with the error 5038 . This happens on one front end server only (the other one is fine) and it is triggered only when users copy/move files.
5034:Information Rights Management (IRM): The initialization of protector … was completed."
5037:Information Rights Management (IRM): Protector could not be created as an IRM protector COM object.Protectors must implement an IRM protector interface in order to be created as an IRM protector COM object. Next, the protector will be created as a generic IUnknown COM object."
5038:Information Rights Management (IRM): Protector could not be created as a generic COM object (IUnknown). This indicates a major problem with the protector. Any COM object can be created as an IUnknown."
