Hi All,
I am trying to create a timesheet recording facility on Sharepoint but have no idea how to go about doing so. I have experience with using sharepoint but am just so stuck on this particular query. I know I would have to use a list but theres just so many complications. Could anyone advise?

Depending on how suffisticated you want it to be, but why don't you just use spreadsheet to do this? Write a web based aplication or better yet search for some free apps on the web. If it is web based you could render it in your SP site via a web part.
