We've been running SharePoint for sometime now and we found that doing a backup and restore in order to move sites from Test to Production was easier and cleaner then the the import/export option. I found out yesterday that after you do a restore of a the Site Content Type Gallery is empty, however this morning the content was suddenly there. We did not reboot the machine or cycle any services in-between. The issue we had was that after the restore the owner could not create anything new, such a page. That's when we found the Site Content Type Gallery was empty. I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this and/or would know what happen in those 12 hours that could have restored the Site Content Type Gallery. From what I can tell the Site Content Type Gallery has default values that are put in place when the site is created. Below is an example of the backup process we use, we simply replace the "backup" with "restore" when were moving the site to a new location. stsadm -o backup -url test-sitename.com:443 -filename c:\mossbackups\test_sitename.bak Thanks, Bob
