I am considering installing sharepoint 2007 over the network probably in web farm, One issue i havent seen is the issue of traffic/server handling by administrators. I was wondering if any one has had problems with sharepoint traffic/speed/basically as a web admin issues i have to consider before installing it. have a good day..

Not here; you can use the capacity planning documentation on TechNet to get a better understanding of the size of the servers based on the calculations they have you do in the document.

I am designing a sharepoint portal for several users to collaborate and share information. I also want each user to have an individual view and profile on the site. How can i achieve this?

I'd start to look at using Content Types for content deployment, Audiences for role-tailored content and My Sites as a profile based site. From a security perspective it's going to be easier to use Active Directory which is apart of Windows Server.

Sharepoint 2007 is in Beta 2 now and is projected to be released at the beginning of the year but now is the time to start looking at the new features that SharePoint 2007 and WSS V3.0 will contain. Below are some of the highlights of the new features that SharePoint 2007 and WSS V3.0 will contain.
