Does anyone know if you can create or develop custom alerts? (i.e. e-mail me every 7 days or email me only this info.)
I'm wondering where the values for the alerts lie in the backend database, if that makes sense?

By default you have the following options for alerts: - Send email immediately
- Send a daily summary
- Send a weekly summary - this has an option for the day and time so you can pick when to receive the alerts
Anything else would have to be developed. I also don't recommend playing with the back end as MS won't support you if you do. |

By default, your can do many things like you can auto send emails to some body and you can also get some emails when a task is finished or overdue. It is quite helpful so long you can full use it. But if you want do something bog I think some third party add-ons are needed, but you can get them very easily. You can go to www.sharepointboost.com to check it out if you like. |
