SharePoint 2007 on WorkGroup/Standalone Server

Hello,

Need your help. I am in a situation to install and configure MS Sharepoint 2007 on a server which is not going to be part of domain. We are procuring 2 servers. Both will be configured as standalone server running Windows 2003/2008 OS. On one server I will be installing and configuring Sharepoint 2007 and another server Sharepoint DB will be hosted (on SQL Server 2005).

Could you please let me know is it possible to install and configure Sharepoint 2007 on Standalone/Workgroup server? if YES, what is the authencation mechanism I can use for the SharePoint?
