Hello guys,
I have been tasked with a wss 3.0 deployment and would like to know if it is possible to deploy wss 3.0 in simple farm with both servers being part of a workgroup?
Currently, there are two standalone wss 2.0 teamshare servers. The goal is to migrate them to wss 3.0. The problem is that one is on the dmz and it uses local accounts for authentication and the other is part of a domain and uses local and domain authentication.
My recommendation for the upgrade was to separate the content db's from the server in dmz and place it in the internal network but the business refuses to add the dmz server to the domain.
Can the simple farm deployment work if one of the systems (server in dmz) is not part of the internal domain?
