Built-in column not available for advanced search

I am having trouble with one item with Advanced Search and Scopes. I can not find how to make the built in column [Country/Region] available for scopes. I can not find it in the Managed or crawled lists. Am I losing my mind? Can anyone tell me how to add this field? When I try a meta-data search on Country/Region (e.g. Country/Region:China) 0 results are returned, but when I do a simple search for China I do get results including the files I am looking for. Is the column named something other than Country/Region.
I have tried:
Country/Region
[Country/Region]
"Country/Region"
Country
Region

None of these returned results.
