On a subsite we have some libraries with differentiated permission groups. One group seeing all libraries, the other one only a few. The question is how to create the look of the site most neatly no matter who is logged in.
At the group with limited access you can still see the library heading but with a small “Access-denied”-text, but I would prefer this group couldn’t see the library at all.
Is it possible to split the site in two halves so that the group with limited acces cannot see the lower half.
Kind regards Connie

When you say "differentiated permissions" we are assuming you mean not inheratitated from the site above.
Have you looked at using audiences? Can you also provide alittle information about how your environment is structured?

My problem is that I have libraries some users are not allowed to see. I have deleted this group of users from the specific library, but they can still see the library (which automatically got a “Series Items” in the Heading). When the users click on the library, though, they got “Access denied” and it is this I want to avoid. They should not be able to see the library at all.
Kind regards. Connie

The Table of Contents web part might also be helpful, since it honors permissions when displaying site and list information. We use this for managing things like a master Meeting Sites page, with all Meeting Sites that a person has access to show underneath. Simplifies page maintenance, that's for sure!
